A few months ago I ran an anti-malware program and it deleted something in the startup files...ever since, about 50% of the time my pc goes into hibernate it hangs up in the process and says "preparing to hibernate." The HDD runs loudly and it won't shut off until I unplug it from the power source. I've tried changing the power management functions and even turning them off altogether, but the same thing happens if I push the power button on the front of the pc or the sleep button on my keyboard. I am running xp pro 2002 sp3.6 people need an answerI do too
