Windows XP freezes briefly and the screen goes white. This happens several times per day.
The CPU and RAM are not maxed when this happens. I have defragged the disk, run a registry cleaner, got the latest video driver, and got the latest Windows updates. The PC almost certainly has no viruses, besides this does not seem like a virus at all. I have also checked the memory and run CCleaner. I have not run a HDD test because last time I did that it trashed the HDD. The only software installed and used is MS Office with the latest service pack. The Windows firewall is on. Any ideas?1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi numcrun,1. Did you make any changes prior to the issue?Try the following steps and check the result.Step 1: Check for disk errorsa. See How to perform disk error checking in Windows XPb. Once disk check is complete, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.Step 2: If the issue still persists, check event logsa. Thanks for your reply. I ran chkdsk, no errors. I will note the times it happens and check the event logs.
