Windows XP explorer.exe hangs now if you eject a disk drive and dont close the window first
We believe this happened after an automated update from Microsoft just a few weeks ago. 4 out of 12 machines have been verified that they are experiencing this problem. Before the update, if you manually ejected a disk, the open window would close. Now the window stays open and of you try to close the window, explorer.exe hangs and the machine has to be shut down hard (hold power 10secs). Task manager can only shut machine down occasionally. When the machine comes back up, the server takes forever to recognized and logon user. Machine then runs very poorly until it is logged off the server and restarted again. Our company is using TrendMicro's Worry Free Business Security suite. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution for it? I have googled it and only get very old (2003 - 2005) info stating that the problem was realted to Panda AV. So that is why I have included our AV info. Thanx in advance for any advice you may have.
