Windows XP cannot access internet after malware removal

backup all personal data and install Windows again. You don't know how much is your Windows damaged by the malware.

Goto Control Panel > Internet Options > Connection tab > Lan Settings button and verify that "Use a proxy server..." is not checked. Many forms of Malware will use a proxy server.
