Windows XP SP2 and Mcafee internet security
I am an At&t customer and I've recently had to upgrade my internet security to McAfee. I have outlook 2003, Window XP sp2...(old...I know but I like it). Are there any known problems with XP and Mcafee? Since upgrading I cannot access my Outlook mail (receive/send), cannot VPN/RDP to my office, and the Mcafee security suite keeps notifying that my system is not protected. I have installed/uninstalled, worked with At&T support for hours, worked with Mcafee support - which all they want to do is uninstall and reinstall. I am currently on hold with Mcafee (again) for more than an hour waiting for support. Is there a known problem with my configuration and the current Mcafee internet security suite??I appreciate your help. I think they don't know how to fix this issue and I think it may be time to move on.Thanks,amgam1 person needs an answerI do too

I can't say for sure what's happening with your computer. However . . . I've seen more problems with McAfee than with any other security software. In several cases, it slowed computers to a crawl. E-mail scanning by an antivirus program can cause problems, and I recommend disabling it. It doesn't give any added protection over the antivirus program's real-time protection. Since McAfee isn't working properly and support hasn't been able to solve the problem, it's probably time to move on. There are many good alternatives, some of them free.
