Windows XP Pro SP3 spoolsv.exe consumes high resources while idle.
I have a HP L7550 on a network... My PC shows that the spoolsv.exe is consuming 80% CPU while idle... I have turned the spooler off and restarted the service which start at 0% CPU utilization, but over a period of time the utilization is back at the high levels...I have turned off the AV sw, I have looked in Windows>System32>Spooler>Printers and this is empty... There are no print jobs in the queue... This problem has be persisting for a long time and disabling the service and printing directly to the printer is not an option... Seems like a memory leak. Any suggestion for fixing this? TIA1 person got this answerI do too
