Windows XP Mode Integration features for all users of a Windows 7 workstation
I have installed the Windows XP mode on Windows 7. I want to use the integration features, and so far it works, but for one user of the Windows 7 workstation. I would like that every user that logs on to that Windows 7 workstation is not prompted for the password of the XP Mode user; That is, I want to find a way that the user/password for the XP mode ist stored in the default profile. How do I do that?

Hi, Please take the following steps: Step 1: create another XPuser account in Windows XP Mode. 1. Log in Windows XP Mode, click Start, click Run, type: control userpasswords2 in the run box, click OK. 2. Click Add, type the name: Default, click Next, set the password, select the user account as others (Administrator). Step 2: edit the permissions on the parent Windows XP Mode VHD file. 1. Shut down Windows XP Mode. 2. Go to the folder: %systemdrive%\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Virtual PC\Virtual Machines. 3. Find the Windows XP Mode.vhd file and copy it to a public folder. I would like to put it on D: \ drive and name a folder VMUser to store it. 4. Right click on Windows XP Mode.vhd file, click Properties, click Security, click Edit, click Add, type: everyone in the box, click OK, check the Full control box under Allow, click OK. Step 3: log in another user account and create virtual machine. 1. Switch to another user, click Start, click All Programs, click Windows Virtual PC, click Windows Virtual PC to open Virtual Machines folder. 2. Click Create virtual machine, type: XPVM, click Next, click Next, click Use an existing virtual hard disk, click Browse and navigate to D:\VMUser, click on Windows XP Mode.vhd file. 3. Click Create. Now please start XPVM.vmcx and you should login the Windows XP Mode, click Tools, click Enable Integrations, type the Default in the username box and password. Hello, I do not think this answer is what I expected. - I have created a new Virtual XP machine from scratch in a directory accessible to all users of the host Windows 7 machine, ll permissions granted to the folder the VHD is in. There is a user in the Windows XP machine that has a password of "password"; this user MUST have a password, otherwise the integration features are not available. - I have placed the VMCX file in a way, that it appears in the profile of each new Windows 7 User logging on. - Every time a new Windows 7 user logs on to the host machine and launches the Windows XP machine, he has to enter the Windows XP user's name and the password "password"; he has to make sure, that the user and pasword are remembered. This information is saved in the Windows 7 vault of that host user. The next time the same user logs on to the Windows 7 host workstation and susequently the virtual XP machine, he is not again prompted for the XP user's password, since it is saved in the vault. - What I want is to circumvent all that initial "log-on-as-xp-user-enter-password-and-make-sure-it-is-saved". The user that logs on for the first time to the Windows 7 machine and then to the XP virtual machine should have everything in the vault already, so the XP machine starts with no password being asked. Is that possible at all? Regards Raúl.
