Windows XP Home Edition: Password will not work, Safemode will not boot. Error.
Windows XP - Home Edition - SP3There is only one administrative account. When trying to boot in safemode, the screen shows the different files being loaded, but then the comp is restarted and brings me to a screen with a starting message of "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not restart successfully. A recent hardware or software change may have caused this."Then some other words I don't believe to be relevant to my problem. And the options to choose safemode, and regular. This could be caused by some hardware changes, but if so, which ones? I took one RAM chip from the PC, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and i didn't want to hook my stereo back up to it. I only tried to boot this computer to get some files off of it since I built myself a monster PC IMO.Any suggestions would be great. I tried putting the keyboard back on to it, but then the keyboard never worked. Just the older one I had for it before. (I did install the drivers for this new keyboard but only used it on the older PC til my new one was complete). I am going to try throwing the other RAM chip back into it to see if that'll work. I just hope it wont send my new PC into the same situation after I switch the RAM back.1 person needs an answerI do too
