Windows XP Home Corrupt Security Files Attributes
CHKDSK has determined that the hard drive had errors and repaired them. The user had Windows XP Home with a password setup, but the drive no longer boots. We have tried countless times to change the security settings to take ownership of the files to transfer them to the new install. Everytime it tells us that we have ownership. We have checked the box for inherited objects and so forth. Why won't the change in ownership transfer to the objects in the file structure. All the folder are visible and accessible, but we get access denied every time we try to open, move or any other such process for each of the files. Please help.
