Windows XP Home 32bit Sp3 Continous Reboot Loop
After Installing a few Update earlier in the week since saturday my pc has been suffering from a continuous looping reboot.Thinking it was outside heat related (102 F ) i took the side panel off the case and had a fan moving air inside the case. This seemed to work after 3-4 reboots the system would engage. Remained some what stable after a few loops of rebooting during the weekend thinking it was a virus (although connected to a network) mainly used for gaming and multimedia i installed AVG and did a virus scan ( results were clean). But today the issue is far worse system turns over fans engage then turns off and restarts over and over able to randomly reach different stages in booting.Seems ive entered safe mode a few times and manged to turn off automatic reboot but i get no stop errors, and somethings i cant even get past my bios splash screen and / post code before the system shuts down and restarts. This is driving me insane because its more or less a new machine (all but the psu and window xp)the stability duration seems random so it is very frustrating trying to trouble shoot and with no stop error codes to look up id figure id turn here1 person needs an answerI do too

From your description of the symptoms, I'd look more towards hardware failure than towards software (Windows). Not being able to get past the BIOS splash screen is a strong indicator since Windows isn't even loaded at that time. It doesn't matter if the computer is new; in fact if hardware is going to fail it will usually do so quite quickly or go for years. I would do hardware troubleshooting first.http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_TshootMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

well it goes to varied stages of booting i can sometimes get a full boot though windows sometimes not even into the bios splash, sometimes can get into my computer before the reboot starts again.currently attempted to change the boot priority to my dvd drive to use my reformating, currently pc will no longer even get to the bios or a bios beep code.

could the outside tempurature ( reached 102 over the weekend) possibly have fried something causing much higher tempuratures maybe the ram went could something like this be the root of the problem?

If your computer does not make it through the POST (Power On Self Test) even *once* you have hardware problems. Yes, of course the computer could be overheating but the hardware issues could be caused by other things too. There will be no way for me to know from here. Successful diagnosis requires hardware testing by someone skilled who is at the machine.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
