Windows XP File and Printer Sharing has stopped working.
I have 5 computers networked together via a D-link G604T - 2 are connected via network cables and 3 via Wireless. These computers have been networked via a workgroup fine for the last couple of years - then ~1 month ago it stopped working. If I try to view worksgroup computers - it works fine on one computer (which contained the shared files) but if I try to open / explore any of the computers or view workgroup computers on any of the other computers I get the error message\\computer name is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The netowrk path is not found.I have tried most trouble shooting guides - including the Microsoft Help and Support Centre Guide for "File and Print Sharing Troubleshooter" and Toms Guide - but niether of these have diagnosed the problem. I've tried many network tests - and they appear to work, i.e. I can "ping" each computer on the network - but I can't get file and printer sharing to work again.Any ideas - I'm really stuck.2 people need an answerI do too

Have you tried removing the sharing and setting it up again? If not, try it with one folder, or try a folder you haven't previously shared.

thanks - just tried that - removed the sharing - re-booted - then reset it up (using a different sahre name for good measure). when i went to the remote computer I still could not map the network drive and when I tried to view workgroup computers I got the message "<workgroup> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not current available."btw - I'm using simple file sharing.P.S. I also tried this for a different folder - but still got the same message.

Aha, the clue is in ‘simple file sharing’, indicating that you’re running XP Professional. You may have to turn off Simple File Sharing in Folder Options > View Tab > Advanced Settings at the end.

Dude, I am finding tons of people including myself that have this problem and I have not found a solution. I am so frustrated. I read an article about increasing the IRPStacksize and that worked for about a week and then things started going haywire again. Please tell me you have found an answer.

This doesn't make much sense, but here is how I fixed it. I went into the firewall exception settings and enabled remote desktop. That seemed to fix it.

I tried the remote desktop thing and it didn't work for me.
