have recently installed windows vista on my computer to try it out and start supporting it. I have come onto a problem when trying to install programs to a secondary hard drive, The hard drive is fine i can download files to it but not install them. Everytime i do i get a error that there is not enough space for the program **(I have 25GB free)** or that it cannot create the folder that i want it installed to. I have tried all kinds of programs, games ect. I am using the administrator account. i have checked everything i can think of. I am really stumpedd on this. The Hard drive i am installing them onto is a SATA ( SCSI as windows reads it but its a sata hard drive) Western Digital WD80 hard drive. are you installing into a folder on second drive or the root ? did you change the UAC permissions on your computer ? What file format is 2nd drive Fat32 or ntfs ? This info will help me help you

How many partitions do you currently have? Take for example if your C: drive hosts the Vista system files and the remaining space after setup is low, subsequent attempts to install an application will likely fail because this affects temporary file location (typically %temp% for each user). This will likely happeneven if the target partition has ample free diskspace.Also, applications tend to write files into %systemroot% and subfolders. So ensure that there is enough free working disk space on the system partition (typically C:). Do let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Hello - I too am having the installation problems. the "temp" area is wide open to everyone, and even the admin login cannot get adobe reader to install anyone have any suggestions? thanks tony

did you change the premissions of the drive ? did you turn off UAC's (dont)
