It just says access denied, or and error occuredwhen i got through all the hoops possible. I have worked with H P on the phone for like 5 hours now I have completely disabled the UAC when attempting this we tryed to use the recovery manager to renew the driver from there but it is not giving me the otpion from there and as such the tech was saying my access has been restricted but we cannot find out how or where this happened at. hoop this helps and you can give me a better answer than wiping my comp. Peace

Hi, Thanks for your update! I would like to confirm if it is an HP monitor. If so, let's check the monitor driver via the following link: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers Please choose the appropriate driver based on the monitor product name/number. If any error occurs during the installation, please let me know. Best regards,

Yea that is the same site i went to to get the drivers when the C.D. didn't work. They are HP moniters as I said before I spent a couple hours with HP support on the phone so if you have ever heard of this kind of error rejection that would be great.

Hi, In order to check which folder needs sufficient permission to install the driver and locate the error, please help to collect setupapi log for research: 1. Please navigate to C:\WINDOWS\inf (I assume Windows Vista is installed under C. 2. Locate the file setupapi.dev.log. 3. Right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". Please send it as an attachment to me at v-seazhu@microsoft.com Best regards,

You may want to right click on the install or setup file and choose run as administrator of course you do want to have administrative rights for that computer
