Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Operating System and Web Folders
I am now working with two people who are instructors who need to access their content materials through Web Folder like they did with Windows XP. Both people are now running Windows Vista 64-bit Operating System. They trying to added Web Folder like they have done before. When trying to add a network folder through the add network location feature to create the web folder a message comes about about the link not being a valid folder. I already have a detailset of instructionson how to add it to Windows Vista 32-bit OS. It does appears it does not work on 64-bit.However just looking at the newest desktops and notebook computer on the shelf in my areathis last weekend I notice that almost 90% if not more have 64-bit preloaded. So this is going to be a growing headache if Web Folder does not work on 64-bit OS.Again, why is it not working on VistaService Pack 2 64-bit? Is there any additional patches that not listed on the Microsoft Update beside KB907306?

It appears to be an issue with Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit, and I have not tested yet Windows 7 64-bit however I am assuming it will be an issue as well.I get same error message on Windows 7 32-bit: The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another. Trying to add the web folder link that I know works fine in Windows Vista 32-bit.

I have this issue on Windows 7 64 bit. I can set up a web folder OK, but some time later or after reboot I cannot have access to the folder. The system gives a message that I do not have a permission to access the folder. Right, there was a fix for Vista, but Win7 seems to have this issue again.I get the error message you mentioned only when I try to reset the web folder.

I'm having the same issue. It seems to be associated with 64bit systems and windows 7 in general. It's driving me mad. I'm using XP pro 64bit on my PC and Vista Ultimate 64bit on my laptop and cannot access web folders on either. I have tried every patch, fix and solution on every forum I've come across. I'm getting ready to pull out an old clunker pc I have in storage just so I can load my files to my website (-_-) I don't understand why Microsoft hasn't patched this yet...
