Windows VPN from Domain to Domain causing account lockout
Hi there,
I have a home domain ABC with account Ian, and a work domain 123 with account Ian.
ABC\Ian & 123\Ian
When i use Windows VPN from my home VPN into the work network, after some time i notice that my local domain account ABC\Ian is then locked.
I have tried logging into the VPN with 123\Ian as the Username, instead of entering 123 into the domain field, but this does not seem to have helped.
I read somewhere that a fix is to rename your local or work account.
But is there another fix so that i can have the same account on both domains, without this issue?
Network Details:
Local Client: Windows 7 Pro
Local Domain: Windows Server 2008 R2
Local Subnet: 192.168.1.x
Remote Domain: Windows Server 2008 R2
Remote Subnet: 192.168.0.x
Kind Regards,
Ian

This isn't a Windows 7 issue, rather it's a Windows Server issue. Basically, you need to set up a trust between the two domains. This question would be better asked on one of the Windows Server forums.
