Windows Upgrade
Hi everyone, I have a quick question about upgrading to windows 7. I currently have Vista Home premium 64 bit and was looking to upgrade to Vista Ultimate sometime in the near future. As a student, I can get the Vista Ultimate (Product Red) upgrade for a fairly cheap price and I was wondering if I purchase this upgrade would I be eligible for a free Windows 7 Upgrade? Thanks in advance

the vista -> windows7 free upgrades is an offer to computer manufacturers to give to thier clients which bought recently a computer with them, i am quite sure you cannot go buy a vista ultimate as a private personand get a windows7 ultimate for free. hope that answers your questions even tho its not the answer you hoped for.GreetsJilli

Hi. :) I believe you are eligible to receive a free Windows 7 upgrade if you purchased a Windows Vista retail packaged product between June 26, 2009 and January 31, 2010 or if you purchased a new PC between June 26, 2009 and January 31, 2010 from a participating OEM or retailer with Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate at little to no cost. =) I hope this helped. :) Evandela

edelcid - I don't think so. First off, the Ultimate Steal deals are already at a rock bottom price. Secondly, you'd have to get the upgrade as part of a packaged deal. Unless they're now offering the Ultimate Steal deal with a free Win 7 upgrade, it isn't likely to be happening.
