I have 13 updates ready to be installed to Vista Home. When I go for install the process starts but then stops at 6%. If I try to install a single update (I have tried a few) the process stops at 75%. When closing down the machine will hang at the isnstalling updates screen indefinately. Under problem details I get Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: TrustedInstaller.exe Application version: 6.0.6000.16386 Application TimeStamp: 4549ae3e Fault module name: wcp.dll Any help would be greatly appreciated Dave

Hi Dave, I may be able to help you, if you can provide me with a bit more information. First thing, are you running a 32x or 64x operating system? It would be helpful to see the contents of the WindowsUpdate.log file. To do this, perform the following: Open the Run dialog, and type in %windir%thatll take you to your main Windows directory. Locate and delete WindowsUpdate.log. Try installing the updates again. Go back to the main Windows directory, and open the new WindowsUpdate.log file. Copy and paste the contents of the log to this thread. Also, there might be some information in Event Viewer-- look for Warning or Critical messages from around the time when you were trying to install the updates. To do this, perform the following: Right-click "My Computer." Select "Manage." Select "Event Viewer." Select "Applications and Service Logs." Select "Microsoft." Select "Windows." Select "WindowsUpdateClient." Select "Operational." If you see any Warning or Critical messages, copy/paste them into this thread. Thanks, Lauren
