Windows Update causing PC to crash
I am running Windows 7 (SP1) 64 bit. Every time my PC tries to install an update via 'Windows Update' it turns off then turns back on again. This happens with EVERY update, either on automatic or manual install. Its got to the point that I have to 'Hide' the updates just to stop my PC knocking off. Please...any suggestions? I have run the 'Windows Update Troubleshooter', did not cure problem. Windows 7 64bit, Core i7@2.8 Ghz, 4Gb ram

Put the computer in clean boot state and the try installing the updates and check. A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
