Windows Update Won't Update by Itself?
Hi, I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. I received a system tray notification saying that there are new updates and it's going to download/install the updates at 2 am which is my setting. I checked next day, and I found that it never download/install any important updates. It is a bug. Thanks.

Hi, Have you disabled Sleep mode and third party firewall? If not, I suggest you try to disable them and check the issue. Disable Sleep mode ============== 1. Click “Start”, type “Power Options” (without quotation marks) into “Search” box and press Enter. 2. Click “Change when the computer sleeps” and select “Never” for “Put the computer to sleep” box. 3. Click “Save changes”. If it does not work, would you please upload the System Information and WindowsUpdate.log to SkyDrive and provide us the link for analyzing? Collect the System Information ============== 1. Click “Start”, type in “msinfo32” (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and then press Enter. 2. Choose “Save” from the File menu and save it as an NFO file. 3. Find the file, right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". 4. Send the compressed file to me. Collect the WindowsUpdate.log ============== 1. Press the Windows key and the R key at the same time, type: %windir% and press Enter. 2. Locate a file named "WindowsUpdate.log" and send it to us.
