Windows Update Group Policy setting set to default - no error on gpupdate
Hi,WindowsUpdate setting is set to defaultonly for one setting - "Automatic Updates detection frequency".This works normally on all other clients and operating systems in domain where frequency is set to 2 hrs. For Windows 7 this is set to the default value of 22 hrs.Setting same value (2 hrs) for local computer policy will not changeoutcome - result is 22 hrs/default setting. It's not possible to change the default value for this particular setting..RegardsMorten Ross

Hi Morten, I did a test on my test environment. The "Automatic Updates detection frequency" works properly in domain environment and workgroup environment. The issue should not be a bug. Given the situation, I suggest you try to modify the setting by PowerShell. For detail information, please refer to the following link: Group Policy in Windows 7 Hope it helps.

Hi,Thanks for yoru reply. Does this mean that when activated and set to a different amount of hrs/frequency than 22, this is shown in the RSoP at your end?Morten RossMR
