Hi guys, I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2, and my Windows Update wont update. I've searched around, tried Fixit and the windows update standalone package, but none seems to work. Windows Defender doesn't seem to update either. Hoping you guys can help me fix it(even if it's dangerous, as long as it works). Thanks guys :)

The first step to take is downloading and running the System Update Readiness Tool (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool) to fix any inconsistency in the Windows Update catalog; read more about this tool at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-us. If this doesn't work, reset the Windows Update components: follow the instructions in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 971058. Bye.Luigi Bruno
