Windows Update 3022345 fails to install (800F0922 error)

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3022345

I receive this error when trying to install it: 800F0922
I don't know what to do to resolve it. I tried this and also restarting the Windows Update service but neither attempt worked. I did notice that if I restart the Windows Update service, Windows Update will say the update is not needed, but if I then tell it to search for updates, it will re-list the update as available to install (Attempting to install it still results in fai

I get the same.  I've also tried it on two different PCs

Win 8.1 Pro x64 and with the same problem here.

All of the rest of patches were installed just fine.

I've tried to restart the PC, but it doesn't work. I guess I'm just skipping this patch.

Indeed a reboot doesn't resolve it either.

Hi, all,

To install this update, you must first have update 2919355 installed in addition to security update 3045999 installed in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.

If problem persists, is anybody please provide the CBS.log? It would help us make a deep research with this problem:

Hi Roger,

I am having the same issue, confirmed reboot does not work. Nor does trying to install the update as a single item, ie no other updates.

I can send you the CBS.log however mine is 105,867 KB - do you just need the last few line items out of it?

Dear Roger,

we have the same issue with our Windows Server 2012 R2. The Installation using the Windows Update fails. Same with downloading the KB File and install it our self. I am able to send you the Archive CBS, what is about 12 MB. Where should I have to send it to?

Hello,

Could you please upload the log via Dropbox or One Drive and share the link back here?

Same problem here, doesn't really worth the time to fix that, and no answer appear to be giving a good reason for that happens, whatever

Go to programs and Features / installed updates, deinstall KB3038314, do not reboot, manually install KB3022345, reboot, then install KB3038314 again. Thats it.

At the moment the installed DigTrack service seems to do nothing, so you can set it to manual start, otherwise you will get errors.

An hour trying many things and the solution was this simple. Thank you.
Is this an incompatibility with the MS 15-032?

This method also worked for me but I am now wondering why I bothered when the very service that is its total reason for being doesn't work. This has to be one of the worst tested updates to ever come out of Microsoft.

Windows 8.1 64bit.

Indeed, I have now uninstalled it as it is a totally pointless update and Windows Update is not going to ask me to install it again. (Unless Microsoft release a fixed version).

Indeed a reboot doesn't resolve it either
It installed today without issue. I assume Microsoft either refreshed the update or one of the other updates that were installed since I reported this, fixed whatever the problem was.
