Windows Update: Does anyone know what the ApplicabilityState codes mean?
Windows Update populates the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\ApplicabilityEvaluationCache. With information about each updates ApplicabilityState and CurrentState.
Technet article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732334(v=WS.10).aspx#I explains some of them, however I am also getting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\ApplicabilityEvaluationCache\Package_for_KB2425227~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1\ApplicabilityState
0x00000070 (112).
On some systems the files are not up to date but when the install is run it says it is successfully installed.
Does anyone have any more information on this and what it may mean?

Hi,
This registry should save the update information. Please understand that the registry key on different system architectures or versions maybe different, so you need to verify these information.
And then check whether the update has been installed, you can go to control panel -> programs -> view installed updates to find whether KB2425227 is listed. If so, you dont need to install the update again.
Also you can check whether the packages Package_XXX_for_KB2425227_XXXX_~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1 are listed in C:\Windows\servicing\Packages on these systems. If they are listed, we can confirm that the update has been installed correctly.
For your reference, you can refer the Additional files for all supported x64-based versions of Windows 7 and of Windows Server 2008 R2 in this article

Hope it helps.
