Windows Update
I've just had an Explrer crash then I have to reboot to make sure everything was fine. (I ran explorer and forced it to run before I rebooted tocheck if the programs I left running are still running and they are fine. It seems only explorercrashed for a probable unknown reason)The programlast ran was the Windows Liveinstaller, which updated the Windows LivePrograms like MEssenger, Mail, Writter, and those stuff... I didn't notice anything wrong during the installation, afterthe installation... After the installation, I left, when I came back, I just see my wallpaper, and the gadgets... so I fired-up task manager (since explorer seemed dead) then run Command Prompt (from task manager) then fire-up explorer... after saving files, I rebooted... but I then discovered that Windows Update Service was notrunning allong with other services, so I ran them manually... check for windows update, then everything seemed fine...Any explanation why these services are not running?? their startup option is set to Automatic which is fine (I suppose since that means it should start when I start when I boot up)*I don't know if this thread should be here but i think this is a security problem since some windows services are not working (well, at least its start up)...

Can you reboot again and does it occur again?Once can be a fluke, twice is an issue.
