Windows Update, Defender, One LiveCare failure after changing hard drive and restoring an Acronis image
Hi there, recently I experimented an unexpected behaivor from my Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium Edition intalled on a Vaio VGN-AW120D. After something behaves abnormally I usually restore an Acronis Image from an almost clean installation, but this time, my laptop bahaved exactly the same way. That lead me to believe that maybe it was a hardware problem. Short story long, and after running RAM and CPU test, lots of evidence lead me to believe that the problem was on the HDD, which was a Toshiba MK3252GSX (the one that came with my Vaio) so, I replaced it with a brand new Toshiba MK6459GSX and restore an Acronis image I found that I made after unboxing my laptop. After doing this all the problems began and all of them have to do with Windows services. At this point if I try to run Windows Update it responds with a8024A000 error. If I try to run Windows Defender it pops the following error 0XC8000247. If I try to run Windows One LiveCare it says "The windows live onecare is not working or been stopped" Besides all of this, my Installation works OK. I´ve already tried everything I´ve found like: Windows System Update Readiness, Microsoft Fix it, Live OneCare Cleaning Tool, etc. Non of it have worked. Also tried re-activating Windows Vista. Another problem I have is that if I try to factory restore my laptop ith the Vaio Recovery Tool it pops different errors. 320, 330, 333. Is there a reason that after changing the original HDD where Vista was installed to a new drive using a clonning tool, Vista detects something that causes everything to fail as described? I´ve spent two week trying take back everthing to normal with no success at all. I´ld really apreciate your help on this issue becuase in fact I´ve search everywhere and haven´t found anything that comes close to my problem. Best regards!
