Windows To Go Bitlocker Kingston Workspace Disk not Initialized.
When I go the Disk Management I can see the disk there but it's not initialized and when I get prompted to initialize it and I hit OK (keeping MBR as the default option) and I get the error:

The device is not ready

Now when I connect it as external drive I get "Genesys USB3/SATA Bridge USB  Device" .

I cannot recover my files. Please HELP!

So this is a WTG drive.

Did you create a workspace and installed windows 8 enterprise on it?

if yes, then can you boot using WTG drive?

check this:

Yes is a WTG drive with windows 8 enterprise on it. It worked for 2 weeks then when I plugged in one day I got an windows error, after that I tried to mount it as external drive on the same PC, and bitlocker asked to "unlock" the drive, I put my password and "unlocked" but I couldn`t see any of my files, so I rebooted, after reboot the drive is only see as "Genesys USB3/SATA Bridge USB  Device"  0 B , can`t assign any letter because this is not initialized. I tried to put it in another pc with windows XP, also tried it on windows 7, same error disk not initialized.

Hi,

You can perform the following steps:

Run diskpart command with administrator

1. diskpart> list volume(find the volume you want to clear hidden)

2. diskpart> select volumeNUMBER(please adjust the NUMBER accordingly)

3. diskpart> attributes volume clear hidden

If the issue persists, try this KB:

Thank you for your advice Leo Huang,

When I list volume on diskpart, the only volumes I see are the ones for the hardisk I`m typing now, the USB Kingston Workspace is not seen on list volumes, is only seen on disk list as "Disk 2    Online             0 B      0 B" , I also installed the KB you said should help, applied the registry fix restarted but still no result. I am waiting for suggestions, I am willing to do anything to recover my files.

  Thanks again

I have the same issue. Device Manager/Disk Drives shows the device, also in Devices and Printers in Control Panel it shows up.

But not in My Computer, and in Storage Spaces in Control Panel it's under "Drives with an unrecognized configuration" (0 bytes - "failed; remove drive").

Did you find the solution? Need help!

For anyone who still has the problem, here's the solution:

I opened the enclosure - the hdd was not properly inserted into the slot!

That's all.
