Another option is to use Sysinternals' Process Explorer, which permits you to right-click on each process and choose "Search Online". There are a finite number of processes that are running all of the time and are a part of Windows. Then there are processes that are running as a result of devices you use, programs you run, and apps you have installed. Process Explorer's various columns can help you discover this, and the ease of searching for a particular process makes it handy to use in exploring your system to determine what a program is, and potentially why it is running (Tree mode lets you see the process "hierarchy" - what process started another). This information can then be used to determine if the process should be running.
