Windows Security screen does not come up - RDP
Using Remote Desktop to access a Windows 7 PC (part of domain, using a domain user account to log in) the Windows Security screen does not work. The "Windows Security" item is there in Start Menu, but nothing happens when clicking it. Also ctrl-alt-end doesn't do anything. Tried on different local systems (runing XP, 7, no difference) Could this be some domain policy? (I googled and there is no setting to disable the Windows Security in whole) Regards, David

How can I know which GPO affects the Security dialog? By the way, the situation is the same with local login, so it is not related to Remote Desktop.

Hi, First, I would like to verify whether this issue occurred with this computer or all the computers. Meanwhile, you can change the Secure Log On to check the result 1. Open the Local Security Policy editor. 2. In the left pane, expand Local Policies, and click on Security Options. 3. In the right pane, right click on Interactive Logon: Do not required CTRL+ALT+DEL and click on Properties. 4. To Enable Secure Log On Select (dot) Disabled, and click on OK. 5. Close the Local Security Policy window. Hope this helps. Vincent Wang TechNet Community Support

Hi, the admin changed a big range of settings (including GUI theme) and now it works. I guess we'll never know what was the cause. :) Thanks for your efforts, David
