Windows Security Center says no virus protection even though my anti virus program is up to date and active
Original title: Windows security symbol says no protection, but my anti virus software says that no threats are on my computer. My anti virus system is up to date(Kaspersky). Why does the red shield with the x on it state that the anti virus protection is offMy anti virus program is up to date and says everything is okay however the red shield with the x is still on and says that no virus protection is onThis has never happened before. Hi Pitbulls,Quite a few Kaspersky users have that same warning but it's a simple false warning. There's a fix for getting rid of the pesky warning permanently:Try these steps and check if they help:Step 1:1. Temporarily disable the WMI service (Windows management instrumentation) in:a. Start >Runb. Type: "services.msc"c. And in there find/stop WMIStep 2:Next delete the C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository folderStep 3:Restart the WMI service using the same procedure you used to stop and restart the computerIt is most likely the Windows Security Center which falsely is telling you it's off, you're not the first and it happens to all brands of Anti Virus software.Azeez Nadeem - Microsoft Support[If this post was helpful, please click the "Vote as Helpful" (green triangle) button.
