Windows Security Center is not recognising my McAfee software is running when it is.
My operating system is Windows XP (service pack 3).My McAfee product is McAfee Security Center and is up to date.It has only started happening in the last few days. The Windows Security Alerts icon appears in the right hand corner atbottom of the screen.Weird thing is though that the warning icon appears as soon as I switch on the PC, then after about a minute or so it goes off. When I go into Security Center it says that my computer is protected by McAfee and everything is fine. Then, after a few more minutes the icon appears again and going into Security Centre it says Virus Protection Not Found, even though my McAfee is all up and running fine. This has only started happening in last few days. I did get automatic updates from Microsoft a few days ago, could these have caused the problem.Maybe I need to reinstall McAfee, but why has it started happening and what has caused it?
