Windows Security ... Connecting to ... Searching for Credential Tiles ...
Hello TechNet. I've done plenty of searching and found several leads but none seem to fix the issue. My thought lays in the line of Arthur's first post in THIS THREAD. You can notice it's had over 10,000 views already so this is a concerning issue that affects a large hadful of people. I have narrowed it down to users needing local admin rights. I have 50 users in Windows 7 that freeze up when trying to access documents from our 2003 Sharepoint server as domain members. I also have 7 contrators that access the Sharepoint server through our SSL WebVPN, both XP and Win 7. Some of the Win 7 users also freeze, I do not control their computers and they are not members of the domain. We have HP Elitebooks fully up to date with service packs and patches. I tried the local gpedit NTLM negotiation, but that didn't seem to allow the credential box to display. When I make the user a member of that computers local administrator's group then the "searching for credential tiles..." actually displays a box for the username and password to be typed. I do not want to make everyone's limited domain account members of the local admins, and I simply cannot control the contrators computers outside my domain. Is anyone able to help me find out which local admin permission grants the limited access domain account access the credential tiles without having to give full local administrator rights?
