Windows Script Host Error on Startup
A couple weeks ago I had a nasty virus and after running a scan I deleted several suspect files with the same creation date include a java script file that wasn't part of the infection.I now get a Windows Script Host Error message every startup "Cannot find script file C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\2794.jsI know it's not there. I deleted it. How do I restore the file (the virus eliminated all restore points) or get rid of the error message?Thanks!!!1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi buckeye49, Most likely there are files associated with it and trying to access it. Step 1: You may want to check for the issue in safe mode a. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears. b. Use the arrow keys to choose Safe mode in the Windows Advanced Boot Menu Options and then press Enter. Step 2: If no issue occurs then perform a clean boot process to determine the cause of the problem. Refer to the below mentioned article to do the same. How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state You may follow steps starting “Step 2” under “Determine what is causing the problem” from the following article.Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program Note: Make sure you put the computer back to Normal Startup once you are done.
