Greetings, What’s the error message your cousin get after entering the password? First of all, the correct password is the entire password letters, not only the letters highlighted in blue. If Remote Assistance still cannot work after entering the correct password, try to disable windows firewall. 1.Click the Start Button->Control Panel->System and Security->Windows Firewall.2.Click on the option named as “Turn Windows Firewall on or off” listed on the left.3.Select the option "Off (Not recommended)" to turn on Windows Firewall.4.Click Apply, click OK. If you are using a third-party firewall, you can also turn off the firewall temporally. Make sure Remote Assistance is enabled.1. click Start, right-click Computer, click properties 2. click Advanced system settings, click Remote tab3. check the checkbox Allow Remote Assistance connections to this Computer.4. Click Ok, then close the window. Have a try, and pls let me know the result.

Have you ever successed on Windows Remote Assistance in the present network enviroment? If there has been a successful connection between your computers, you can find a XML Douments file in C:\Users\your name\Documents\Remote Assistance Logs. Can you find the files? If there is no logs file, you may have to focus on remote control connection issue. Some software (like firewall, router-control) may block the remote assistance. Or your assistance request has been droped by some setings on your connection.for your reference: http://www.avforums.com/forums/networking-nas/842367-having-problems-offering-windows-remote-assistance-vista-home-premium.html I recommend you to use Remote Assistance via third-party software: TeamViewer as a try.http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx TeamViewer is a solution for easy and friendly desktop sharing.

In fact, I have no 64-bit system. I have tried sending Remote Assistance to between Vista and Windows 7 and that all goes well. Based on your description, the moderator tended to conclude this issue to the networking communication program rather than system conflict. IMO, there may be some incompatibilities between different bit version's built-in application. Have you ever tried sending the assistance from your cousion's computer to yours? And does TeamViewer workes on your issue? It can cover the complex networking road's block, especially when you are in the isolated networking enviroment. I'm glad to work with you!
