Windows Media Player won't play videos in multi-user system
Hi all, I have an unusual problem and that is that the computer, 7 Ultimate 64bit, was once a single user system and all the resources played nicely. Had to put a second user, also an admin, onto the system and now it won't play any videos at all, whilst the original user has no problems. Any ideas?

Hi, Thank you for your post! When did this issue begin to occur? Did it occur once creating the new user account? If you have any third party codec installed, please uninstall them first. Also I suggest uninstall\reinstall WMP Codec Installation Package. For more information on WMP codec, please refer to Plug-ins for Windows Media Player. If the issue persists, I would appreciate if you can create another new account so that we know if this issue only occur to specific account. Hi Magon, thank you very much for your fast response. The issue started once I created the new user and the original user was unaffected. I just forced the library to re-populate itself and what was a "Codec Error" has fixed itself. Just for information: There were no third party codecs installed Windows 7 Ultimate base OS Tested on new account and it worked fine using video files from both the new and original user, hence the trial of re-populating the library Cheers, Kai
