Windows Live Profile not syncing properly on different devices

Hi everyone,

I have encountered the following problem:

I have a Windows Live account. When I sign in on a newly installed Windows 8 machine (tried on several), only the following things are synced:

- desktop background;

- start menu colors/background;

- account picture;

- lockscreen picture;

AFAIK, this is the Personalize setting from Sync your setting.

I also get the language preferences synced.

However, I also want the following things synced:

- taskbar - I use small taskbar buttons + never combine and I always get the default large ones

- desktop icons - I want all of the 5 icons (computer, home folder etc.) and I only start with the default one (recycle bin)

- I have removed some start menu apps (uninstalled some, just unpinned others), but when I log in all the default ones appear

I tried the troubleshooter:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F24D0C03-4181-4E5B-A23B-5C3A6B5974E3/microsoftaccounts.diagcab

and the funny thing was it said it detected that syncing of my personalization settings is off, which is actually the only thing that syncs properly. What's more I have all the sync settings set to on. Do you have any idea as to what the problem might be?

Hi Alex,

Could you please attach the screenshot for Sync-up setting under personalization for reference? Thanks.

Hi,

Could you please try to use another account to check the result? Thanks.

That is the most retarded answer I have heard. I am not making another MS account just to test this. You were extremely unhelpful, I hope you, oh you do work for Microsoft. What a asshat answer.
