Windows Live Messenger 2009 (Build 14.0.8064) not working on Windows 7 - Build 7100
I just installed windows 7 2 days ago and cant run the latest version of live messenger. After I am logged in, an error message comes up saying windows live messenger has stopped working. Each time i Log in, that message comes up and Im unable to use the messenger application. My friend has the same build as me and had the same problem. He tried to fix it by right clicking on the windows live messenger exe file, clicked properties > compatibility> run with windows vista SP2. He tried logging in and it worked fine for him. I tried the same thing as well but it didnt work out well for me. I still get the wlm has stopped working message which leads to messenger being closed down.Did anyone have this problem? Please help me out and if you need more information. reply and i will post back.

Have you tried uninstalling the Windows Live Essentials and then re-installing them? You can do this by going to Control Panel>Program and Features and then clicking on the Windows Live Essentials option.I've installed Live Messenger on 5 builds of Windows 7 (build 7100) and haven't had any problem.John Barnett MVP: Windows XP Associate Expert: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org;

Yes I have mate. I done that several times and i still get that problem - windows live messenger has stopped working. Im using windows live 8.5 at the moment which has no problems. I don't know why the 2009 latest one is not working on my pc as I tried nearly every solution given to me.
