Windows Live Mail 'stalls' when clicking SEND for an outgoing mail. Possible interaction with Symantec Security Suite?
When trying to send an e-mail, using Windows Live Mail client software, the application 'goes to sleep' (hour glass...) for an unpredictable time (from a second or two to many minutes). Checking on it (CTRL-ALT-DLT) for 'application', the response is 'applications is not responding'. The ONLY way out of this is either aborting (losing all current effort) or just let it 'do it's thing'. During that time, the application is not usable or accessible. Other applications can be accessed and run... This may be an interaction with Symantec Security Suite. Symantec has spent some time on this (via remote trouble shooting) without much success. Have you tried with Symantec turned off? Nothing Norton/Symantec has made in the last ten years has been compatible with any MS e-mail client. I can't guarantee it is causing the problem, but I would remove it in a heartbeat regardless. If you wish to, do this. Download and Save MSE. Microsoft Security Essentials: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx Download this tool. Norton Removal Tool: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039 Close all online programs. Remove Symantec via Add/Remove Programs Install MSE. Run the Norton Removal Tool Reboot Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]
