Windows Live ID Internet Connection Error in Windows Explorer (Docs & Settings)
Hi - I'm hoping someone can help me. Every time I try to access my Documents and Settings folder from Windows Explorer, I get a very annoying pop-up error message "Windows Live ID Internet Connection Error". The only options on it are "try again" or "cancel", but when I try those, it continues to pop up and is VERY hard to close out of. I have to "end task" to get out of the window to stop the pop-up. Does anyone know of a fix for this?I'm using Windows XP Home Edition with service pack 3 and Internet Explorer 7.I've researched this and every answer given hasn't helped. Thanks in advance!!EDIT - I was finally able to get rid of the pop-up....by clicking cancel 3 or 4 times...but I still wonder why this does this and if there's a fix. Thanks! :)

You may be able to try looking for and deleting a folder named "My web sites on MSN"http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/834814.htm

Thanks for the response - but I tried that and couldn't find a folder with that name (or even with websites spelled together). All the responses I've found from doing my research haven't worked for me nor anyone else that I've seen so far...

Joel - I'd seen this suggestion as well, but I don't have that option in add/remove programs (for Windows Live anything-related).UPDATE - it's fixed now!! Shawn - I had seen that thread that you mentioned before coming here and had searched for that item (even the NetHood subfolder that was mentioned), but couldn't find either UNTIL just now when I did the search again but included hidden files/folders (duh!!). I found 2 instances of the "My Web Sites on MSN" from different accounts that I deleted and that pop-up isn't coming up now. YAY!!Thanks! And for those with the same problem, here's what was mentioned to do from the thread Shawn posted BUT make sure your search includes hidden files & folders:Following recent updates to Windows XP, some users experience popups asking them to enter their Windows Live ID whenever they browse to their Documents and Settings/username/ folder, whether or not they have such an ID or use those services. This can be prevented by deleting the item "My Web Sites on MSN" from the NetHood subfolder in this folder, which apparently causes this by trying to access the network.
