Windows Live Essentials Update fails
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. For an update I added Windows live essentials. When it got to it it stayed updating it for over half an hour. So I choose stop installation. Now over an hour later it is still froozen with the stop installation button greyed and the progress bar half green. What do I do now? Thanks, Chas

Hi Chas2003, I suggest you uninstall all the Windows Live Essentials, install and run Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove all the entries for Windows Live Essentials first. Then, you may reset the network settings. Reset TCP/IP, proxy and DNS ===================== 1. Click the Start Button, click "All programs", and click "Accessories". 2. Right-click "Command Prompt", and click "Run as administrator". If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 3. Please enter the following commands, and press enter after each NETSH INT IP RESET NETSH WINHTTP RESET PROXY IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS 4. Restart the computer to check the issue. After that, reinstall Windows Live Essentials in Clean Boot. If the antivirus program cannot be disabled in Clean Boot, I suggest you manually disable it temporarily. Good luck!Arthur Li - MSFT
