Windows Installer, Preparing to Install Unload: Frequently interupts, difficult to "cancel" - Cure?
I recently returned from a four month mission trip to Kenya. Shortly after starting up my desktop I got a window saying Windows Installer, then Preparing to Install. Clicking cancel it just recycles. Allowing it to finish leaves a new window headed "Unload" then "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resouce that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "Unload.mis" in box below. use source: c:\hp\tmp\src\hpsw\setup\unloadlntent\ (the address shown in the box). I have AVG, MS Security Essentials, and Malwarebytes installed. None of them have caught this. How do I get rid of it? Thanks, Cal :-)1 person needs an answerI do too

1. Put in your HP printer software and see if that satisfies the Windows Installer.2. If it doesn't, use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove the call for this.Clean Up MSI (Windows Installer) -http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
