Windows Image Restoration to SSD
I have a 240GB SSD as my main disk for my OS and two 1TB drive for storage. After installing windows I have no problem backing up the image onto either 1TB hard disk. I run into a problem when I try to restore from that system image with either the Install DVD or restore CD. The restoration is painfully slow, and I wasn't able to wait for it so I ultimately cancelled it. What could cause your SSD to restore slower then my 10K hard disk it replaced? I'm running latest firmwares for system board, and SSD and I am running the hard disk controller in AHCI mode as recommended by the SSD manufacturer.

Try to install windows from scratch to see how it performs. It might be a BIOS compatibility issue. Depends how old your motherboard is..... I have a regular 32 GB ata ssd for laptops and I have tried it in 3 laptops, none of them detect it. However if connect it usb, then it is read fine. Try a new motherboard..... Try a different configuration completely. See specifics of your motherboard's north-bridge, main chip to see about SSd compatibility... Try also linux, install Ubuntu and see how that is performing... Could be plenty of issues.... Please do not forget to select the best answer if it helps you!
