Where did you get your copy? How much did you pay? Does your DVD have all kinds of holographic pictures on it?-Noel

Hi,It must be the update KB971033.This update is capable of detecting whether you’re having an original version of windows 7 by looking over 70 known and potentially dangerous activation and hacking exploits. With this update KB971033, Microsoft intends to notify it’s users whether they’re having a legitimate copy of windows7 or whether they’ve been tricked into buying a counterfeit software. If the validation update detects any validation errors and activation exploits, then you’ll be redirected to internet for the resolution of this error. And when the exploits and errors are removed, you’ll be asked to activate the Windows copy using genuine license keys. After that, you’ll be periodically notified that you’re copy of Windows7 is not genuine until you format your drive or install a fresh ‘genuine’ or ‘pirated’ copy of win7.Visit our website at http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/reporting/default.aspx for additional information on recognizing genuine Microsoft products and Microsoft's licensing policies. You can place a call to our Microsoft Activation Center and they will help you to activate your copy of Windows XP by telephone. The Microsoft Activation Center can be reached at 888-571-2048 (toll free) or 716-871-2929. The activation process is free of charge.

Hi Rictro, think of this: If you get a message like "Windows or one of his components try to jump the comprobation of genuine advantage", then you may be unable to validate or activate Windows at all. Some system files that are necessary for the validation may be corrupted, missing or blocked. If your system isn't damaged, it can contain an activation exploit that simply disables WAT (so that the OS may work without the latest update but not with it). You can confirm the latter by restoring the system without update 971033 and looking at the System screen (CP -> System). If at the bottom right (where either a "genuine" or "activate windows now" notification should be seen) there is nothing to see, then you're victim of that hack. Hi Rictro, yes I speak Spanish (if it's easier to you to reply in that language, feel free to do so). Back to your question: I forgot to mention that in my first answer when I said "restoring the system without update 971033", that was meant to go back to a system state before installing update 971033, either by a prior restore point or by a complete reinstall. That is because this update can be uninstalled but the uninstall will not remove your "non-genuine" status if it once marked some system files as corrupt, missing, wrong or not accessible. These markers will remain even after removing the update itself. But as you said: The best thing will be to speak to the seller and ask him about the whole thing."I think there is a world market for maybe five computers. Tranquilo, hombre, tranquilo... Compra tu Windows, y todo está arreglado. No hay razones para seguir con todo ésto. Lo que no creo, es que eso del "reloj del sistema" tenga que ver algo con el problema. Te lo repito: El mensaje "Windows o uno de sus componentes intentan de evitar la prueba de genuine advantage" indica que algún programa bloquea el acceso a algunos archivos esenciales para la validación. OEM SLP keys are always leaked to the internet. That is not a problem. Computers that come with Windows pre-installed come woth an OEM SLP key. This key will only work on computers that have the proper OEM Bios Flag. This Flag is only found in the motherboards in computers made by that computer manufacturer. As you see, normally, just having the OEM SLP key will not do anything for you without the Computer from the proper OEM Bios Flag. And since those computers already come, pre-installed, with Windows 7 using a OEM SLP key, there is no point. However, there are Hacks out there called OEM Bios Hacks. These hacks make Windows think there is a OEM Bios Flag, when there isn't one. So, if you combine a OEM SLP key with using a OEM Bios Hack, then you have a Non-Genuine copy of Windows. So, using a OEM SLP key is not, in itself, a bad thing. Only when combined with the OEM Bios Hack does it become bad.In your case, I don't know if you have a OEM Bios Hack installed. The way you can tell is all computers that come with an OEM SLP keyt also come with a COA SLP key on the sticker on the side or bottom of the computer. This is the "Backup" key in case OEM Bios Flag somehow gets erased (Example, if you flash your bios with an update). The resolution to your issue is: Look to the COA Sticker on your computer.a) Is the sticker there?b) if so, does it say it's for Windows 7?c) If so, click on the Start button, right-click Computer and select 'Properties' A Window will open, scroll down to and click Change Product Key and enter the Key from your sticker.d) Is it accepted? e) if so, Activate by using the By Phone method. If the answer to a, b or d are 'No', then your Windows 7 is Non-Genuine and I would recommend contacting the person or company that sold you the computer or the Windows software and return it for a Full Refund.

There appears to by an issue with the last round of updates, I have seen two OEM (dell) laptops showing the Non-Genuine, when it fact they are legit.A restore with the disc and all updates installed and the systems are fine now.Last friday on a weekly conference call with other consultants and It Dept. workers from the southeast, we discussed this in length. It would appear that this is a wide spread issue, the IT staff at a university stated they have seen over 20 units marked Non-Genuine when in fact they are Genuine legal OEM.for this to be so wide spread it must be a flaw or some how MANY win 7 keys have been used by the pirates. The strange thing is that we have only seen a few of the retail products showing this, one I did see was a worker for the city who did a wipe and load and used the method of installing twice to get around not have vista on the system. She told me she spend an hour on the phone with the MS team, she said they gave no help in the matter. She wiped the system reinstall vista and did the upgrade, using her same key from the retail package purchased at the local big box store...BAM no more problem with "Non-Genuine" ...now if she could just cleanup the trash of the HP OEM install she will be good to go.

Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on the Validate Windows and/or Validate Office button then restart your computer. If you weren't able to Validate, proceed as follows: 1. Download this diagnostic tool, saving it to your desktop: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062 => WinXP: Double-click on the executable to run the tool. => Vista & Win7: Right-click on the executable and select Run as Administrator to run the tool. 2. After running the tool, click on the Windows and/or Office tab as appropriate and then click on Copy (to clipboard). NB: You may want to open a new Notepad file, paste the contents of your clipboard into it & save for future reference. 3. Begin a new thread in the appropriate Microsoft Genuine Advantage forum and paste the results from the WGA and/or OGA Diagnostic Data tool in a detailed post: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/genuine 4. A troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.

Why do Technet licenses seem to become invalid after an update? I keep having that happen and I am running out of keys. Dave Mabo, CMC Adaptix Corp. is this a license from your current subscription?"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" Want to install RSAT on Windows 7 Sp1? Check my HowTo: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=150221

It is a license currently assigned to my current subscription. Since I have had it for a number of years, and the Win 7 was assigned last year it still appears on my list. I have used another license. Since each year, they do not release all the keys, I have to assume they are good as long as my subscription is active. If not please release some of the keys that are no longer active, so I can use them in the future.Dave Mabo, CMC Adaptix Corp.
