Windows File Protection - XP problems
Just recently, whenever I boot up my computer, and the desktop appears, a window labeled "Windows File Protection" shows up. In the window it tells me to wait until it "verifies that all protected files are intact and in their original versions".But along the way, another window pops up, also from "Windows File Protection".It says, "Files that are required for Windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL Cache. Insert your Windows XP Professional CD-ROM now."I have the disc, but I don’t know what DLL Cache is, what to copy, or where to copy to. Help! Thanks in advance.

Just insert the disk. Windows XP will automatically copy the necessary files from the disk to the DLL Cache, which is a folder where the system stores copies of important files.Boulder Computer Maven

After I insert the disk, the Windows XP CD menu just pops up. Nothing happens after that.
Is it because I originally installed with SP2 and upgraded to SP3? The disc Inserted was a SP2 disc.
