Windows File Protection - No CD available.
Hi, I'm running Windows XP SP3, and i have this problem: Each time i reboot my computer, there's this pop-out window by Windows File Protection claiming one of my system files has changed and is now a unrecognized version. To restore it back, I am required to insert in Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3 disc. However, I installed my windows using Windows XP Professional, SP 2 Disc, and then a upgrade from patch to SP3. When i tried inserting SP2 Disc that i have, it claims its a wrong CD. Following an advise from Microsoft Helps @ Twitter, i was redirected tohttp://bit.ly/fZKvFR , where i was able to download a ISO file image of SP3. I then use a daemon software to mount the ISO image file. I then rebooted my computer and tested the downloaded image file. However, Windows File Protection claims that was not the source of my installation of SP3..My computer still works as per normal, except it gets laggy much easier. Not sure if this might be the cause but if possible, i wish to resolve it.Can anyone help me out with this please? Thanks loads for reading and regards!-Lenz
