Please try starting your computer in safe mode. Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer with only basic services and functionality. If an existing problem doesn't reappear when you start Windows in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers as possible causes. I would recommend disabling 3rd party applications to see if they are causing the issue. Please try a “clean boot” to see if any background programs are interfering. Also, if you are using Firefox, some people have has success in removing add-ons in Firefox (mentioned in Firefox crashes explorer.exe) MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. Hi Tim, Cdobbs's suggestions are worth to try. In addition, you can aslo perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Use ShellExView tool to disable some third party item. The following link has some info and a download to ShellExView which you can use to selectively disable third party context menu handlers to find out a problematic one: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm 2. Run antivirus program and perform a full scanning. Thanks, Novak
