Windows Explorer keeps crashing, restarting, and crashing again.
My issue seems quite strange. After start up, a window pops up to tell me that Windows Explorer has crashed ("Windows Explorer has stopped working") it then restarts and thirty seconds later, starts the proccess over again. Basically, I can't open anything because they just close on the explorer restart and it's interfering with my work. I have found that the problem does not occur in safe mode, and it always starts after everything boots. I'm not sure what could be the cause, or what the solution is but I need help. Virus scans turn up nothing. Oh, one more thing, System Recovery refuses to work. It starts Initializing then decides to stop.

You can proceed by a system restore operation. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore This is a link about how to perform it: http://www.faultwire.com/solutions/using_system_restore_vista.php (It is important to see this link because it is giving the different possible ways to restore your system from a restore point) If you've got no restore points you can proceed by repairing your operating system install (Use safe mode or boot from DVD): http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/archive/how-to-do-a-repair-install-to-fix-windows-7/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hi, please download this reg file from my SkyDrive: http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer.reg and make a double click on the file to import it. When the Windows Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the file to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see which Shell extension is the cause. Hello, The problem could be cause by many things. It could be a simple an add-on that's crashing it. Try the following: First run an adware/malware scanner such as malwarebytes. Next, go to control panel and Internet Options. In the advanced tab, click on the RESET button. This will reset Explorer back to defaults and eliminate any third partu add-on's that may be causing the problem. Good luck.
