Windows Explorer disappeared
The Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) shortcut stopped working, Explorer is not on the Accessories list anymore, and it is not available to reload on the Add/Remove Windows Components menu. Explore is still working by right clicking on My Computer. How do I get Explorer as such back?

Hi,Navigate to the following location: C:/Windows/ Explorer and create a shortcut from there and check if that works. If that does not help, try this:Use the System File Checker (SFC) tool.System File Checker gives an administrator the ability to scan all protected files to verify their versions. If System File Checker discovers that a protected file has been overwritten, it retrieves the correct version of the file from the cache folder (%Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache) or the Windows installation source files, and then replaces the incorrect file. System File Checker also checks and repopulates the cache folder. You must be logged on as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group to run System File Checker.Refer this link to do the same:Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)Regards,Divya R – Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Hi, Happy to hear that you could fix the issue by yourself. As far as Windows Explorer is concerned it could be that the folder has been hidden. Also Explorer file is an executable file (.exe). You can look for explorer.exe file.
