Hi, 1. Did you make any changes to the computer recently? Method 1.There is a possibility that another third party application is causing the conflict with these applications. You are required to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing this and then disable or remove it. Refer:How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" statehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-usNote: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow the steps as explained in the article to reset the computer to start as usual.Method 2.Also you can configure the pagefile.sys accordingly for optimal performance.Refer:How to configure paging files for optimization and recovery in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/314482 Also I would recommend you to download and install the Windows XP service pack. It improves the reliability of Windows by installing the latest software updates - new drivers for the hardware and more. Computer has the most up to date protection against viruses, spyware and malicious software. Here is the link to download it.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=68C48DAD-BC34-40BE-8D85-6BB4F56F5110&displaylang=en Hope this helps. Thanks and Regards:Shekhar S - Microsoft Support.
