Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working
My friend brought over his laptop that he's had for one day. He's able to connect to the internet but Windows Explorer keeps opening and restarting .. apparently lots of ppl have this problem. His virus scan says he has a trojan, but i doubt that has anything to do with windows explorer. How does he fix this? We already tried a system restore.

The trojan probably has everything to do with Internet Explorer crashing. Since your friend only had the laptop for a day the quickest and easiest course of action might be to perform a system recovery to start over. Before your friend starts using the internet, be sure antivirus and firewall are in place, working and updated.

System Restore won't remove the trojan. I recommend you to perform full scan using a Vista compaitable Antivirus, you can tryout Windows Live OneCare www.windowsonecare.com for 90 days (Antivirus, Firewall, Antispyware, PC Tune up).
Good luck
