Windows Explorer Folder Sort and Computer / Network Snapin disappearing (Windows 7)
Hello,
I have recently moved to Windows 7 and I am on a corporate Network Domain (Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory)
There are 2 issues that no one seams to be able to solve:
1. Windows Explorer - Local Folders and Files and Network Shares - We can not sort the files or folders (The Green indexing bar starts and keeps going for hours and does not return the sort order either date, file name or any other selection. The folders
are Optimised for General Items, I have tried changing all of these and it makes no difference.
2. Windows Explorer - Computer and Network keeps dissappearing from the left pane and then only shows Favorites and Library with the mag glass continuosly turning, the only way to fix this is right click Windows Explorer from the task bar and select Windows
Explorer.
Both these issues impact all users
Any help appreaciated.

Hi Martin,
First, please
temporarily disable the third party security programs to check the issue.
If the issue persists, I suggest boot in
Safe Mode
and
Clean Boot
to test this issue.
Also, please check if the following registry keys are modified as the links below:
How to properly remove "Network"
from Windows Explorer and Save Dialog boxes?
How to Remove “Computer”
from Windows 7 Explorer’s Navigation Pane?
